A project of renovation a 100sqm loft in barcelona, was done by YLAB arquitectos. This loft has a big terrace, in an old building, inside the hearth of a traditional neighborhood in Barcelona. This loft has a really deep and thin floor plan in support of two facades in the ends, one towards the street and another one to the terrace within the inner courtyard.
To maximise the lighting and ventilation in the facades eliminating unneeded partitions, and to acquire a new distribution which has all the utilizes required by it’s young owner: the bedroom suite, the guest bathroom as well as bedroom, a operating studio, a kitchen along with a dining room with regard to parties and conferences. In order to maximise the lighting it’s important to achieve the structural intervention which completely eliminates the interior partitions and the structural wall situated directly behind the rear façade, which is key towards the optimal use associated with light.
